Are invasive species imports from a different save?

That species that somehow replaces all population groups with itself, and leaves the save devoid of any genetic variation. And they tend to be consuming based. They eat ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on their path, creatures or plants and kill themselves off in the end. But in rare cases they become self sustaining. In some cases, they become so crowded that they kill all FPS and render the save unplayable

How would such a creature become self sustaining?

Not the individual creature, the populations become self sustaining by speciating to opposite sides of the digestion system value, reproducing very slowly or evolving to cannibalizing omnivores.
