Perhaps creature width could be linked to how powerful their limbs are allowed to be. A weak-legged little katydid can do just fine looking like a surfboard, but it wouldn't be able to anchor the muscle for anything larger.

Here's an AI suggestion that has been met with rave reviews:
Fear of biomes?
Neovenator wrote:We know that many creatures will just trundle over huge deserts and starve half-way across. However, if they evolved a dislike of that biome, it might encourage speciation and other cool stuff. If a creature disliked Fertility:0, or Water:Shallow, then water crossings and central deserts would become an effective barrier. On the other hand, if a creature disliked Water:No or some such thing, then we could have some Speciespotamus!
Of course there are elaborations on the idea in the discussion that follows.

About clade tree :

We should have an option to hide the dead branches, and only see the still living branches.
I would be simplier, I think.

We should add in natural extinction methods, such as disease (said previously in this topic) or a meteor, or maybe even volcanic eruptions  .
If we did add a disease I think we should make it kill off one type of species, although there is a small chance that it will jump species and cause a mass extinction. This would make the game more interesting as you would use this tool at your own risk. This would also force players to quarantine their favourite species, to prevent them from getting the disease, and causing speciation as different creatures rush in to fill the evolutionary niches.
Some more natural disasters could be:
Bushfires
Earthquakes
Tornadoes
Monsoons/Cyclones
Storms with Lighning
And Tsunamis
DEATH AND DESTRUCTION!!! Mwahahahahahahahaha!
My Major Competitions:
Droetis
Charbiss
Petrixic

Diseases have already been suggested, as have natural disasters.

I simply wish and I can tail could be properly integrated into the torso so that we could have snakes evolve....

You know what would be cool? A herbicide/flamethrower function.

Flamethrowers would kill trees and leave grasses mostly unharmed, and herbicide would do the opposite. After that, you can laugh as the wildebeest starve to death and the giraffes take their place as overlords of the world!
