Evolve to be thicker overral to catch more sunlight.

If there is no more room to expand, than we'll use the available surface more effectively

I believe this may be their sex vote:

Edit: I will be suggesting for our sex vote to be developing two tentacles that will be having optical cells that might hopefully develop into eyestalks one day.

Turn Five
Event: Jawed Predator
A large eel like animal has migrated into the Munr Sea and begun to prey upon the the animals with. It’s a fairly simple organism with a basic nervous, circulatory and respiratory system, as well as a skeleton. But worst of all for its prey, it is capable of sight and scent. This has allowed it to run rampant across the sea for the time.
All Votes directly related to dealing with the Event get a +1.
I might miss next week’s turn, I’m really busy this week.

Team Octotank
Votes-
Immune System, Auto 6
Sex Vote: Optical Tentacles, 2+3=5

Changes:
Seeing Tube- Inpolypus Spiciolonge
The Eye Tube has developed clusters of light sensitive cells on the ends of each of its six tentacles. These spots are sensitive to light, and while they lack detail to see much of anything, they have been very useful in detecting the fast approach of the Jawed Eel Allowing the organism to escape.
A sudden outbreak of a pseudo-bacterial disease resulted in the evolution of a symbiotic immune system. The Tubes that survived now have an organ reminiscent of the appendix that contains a great number of bacteriophage viruses. A sample of the viruses are released from the organ. If any of this first wave fail to take effect, specialised cells start making semi-random changes to the viruses and then releasing them until one works or the organism dies. If one wave does work, the victorious viruses are then stored in case the disease returns.

Event Effects
The Eye Tube is somewhat able to flee the Jawed Eel, but it can’t detect its predator from far away, and it can’t swim terribly fast as all it has is its semi-hydrodynamic shape and six tentacles which can swim but aren’t terribly great at it.

Description: A Tube shaped organism that attaches to the sea floor and faces into the current to catch and eat random organic debris from dead algae and the like. Its body is supported by a hydrostatic skeleton that acts as a primitive open circulatory system. It has three tentacles on either end it uses to grab onto the ground and swim. They have an incredibly sensitive touch and can discern food from non food by its texture. It has a central nervous system and basic intelligence. It has a trisexual reproductive system, that makes use of females to donate eggs, males with distinctive ridges to fertilise them and ocmales to carry the eggs to birth. They form herds, made of multiple females and males centered around an ocmale. It has a virus appendix that holds virus bacteriophages. The viruses act reminiscent of an immune system. This organ is also capable of randomly modifying the viruses to defeat new diseases.

Team Any
Votes-
Exoskeleton, Auto 6
Sex Vote: Respiratory System, 2+3=5

Changes:

Bony Squid Fish- Signipolypus Ossiololligo
The Squid Fish has made a gigantic leap of its own, as its population has evolved a respiratory system, after members of their population began to prefer larger members of its species to mate with. This resulted in the species needing more efficient or more energy, with the former wining out. They now have gills that allow them to take in oxygen and use their food intake much more efficiently allowing them to grow larger.

As a secondary effect of its size growth, it started to need a structure to keep itself organised and has evolved an exoskeleton that covers its main body forming a hydrodynamic shape. This skeleton is more like a shell at the moment with its mouth tentacles and flagella extruding from it, although it does flex and move with the body.

Event Effects
The Squid Fish can somewhat run away from the Jawed Eel, and its exoskeleton can provide some resistance from its teeth, but it only notices the Eel by the time its jaws have clamped down on its skeleton and by then it can’t escape. This has allowed the Eel to Hunt them with impunity as given a little time it can bite through the skeleton.

Description: A fish-like organism with a small flagella-like tail it uses like a primitive rudder. Its mouth is surrounded by tentacles it uses to grab food and build nests. These tentacles can secrete a sticky glue used to build nests and anchor eggs. Using its chemoreceptors, it spits out non food debris. Its digestive system works as a makeshift circulatory system delivering nutrients throughout the organism. It has a central nervous system giving it a basic intelligence. It has hard exoskeleton covering its main body, which has a hydrodynamic shape.

Team ABNTT
Votes-
Floating Clusters, 6+2>6
Thicker Clusters, 4+2=6

Changes:

Eclipse Slime- Mobilialga Stellamorph
The Eclipse Slime has begun to move away from the shallows as their stars have evolved into mats that weave air pockets into the structure allowing them to float at the surface. This has dramatically increased the surface area available for them to harvest energy. At the same time these colonies have grown increasingly thick totally blocking out all light. This has resulted in a massive influx of energy into their population and a near constant population boom. The total lack of herbivores/predators of their species means their population can grow out of control and will soon cover the sea and blot out the sun.

Event Effects
The Slimes aren’t appealing prey to the Eel. That said, they’re going to cause an event of their own from darkening the ocean next turn.

Description: A green slimy mass that can be found across the surface of the Munr Sea. They grow in vast matted colonies. These Mats are dense and block out sunlight below. It is covered in small blackspots that it uses to detect light and move towards brighter areas. They photosynthesise for energy. They grow and divide rapidly.

Team OctoTank:
This is your call, Burger Cat, but I propose [one or more of] the following vote[s] to help deal with the Jawed Eels.
1. Evolve Bladed Flanges on our tentacles which can be used to slice and cut opponents. These can be used against the Jawed Eel in the case of being attacked; as it bites or gets near us, it's prey, the tentacles can lash and gash the Eel's frontal areas to either convince it to retreat or cause major damage. We get a side perk of these blades potentially ripping up the Eel's insides should it end up devouring us.

2. Evolve the secretion/launching of proto-ink, which creates dark clouds and noxious smells, in order to blind and stench-confuse the Jawed Eels. Since we travel in herds, a whole crowd of us releasing such a cloud would certainly drive off the Eels, unless they somehow learn that a cloud of ink means there is prey nearby.

3. Egg Projectiles! Ocmales evolve a system of launching hardened spear-like young. This is either to save them from death should an Ocmale be eaten, but also could be fired into enemies, such as the Jawed Eel, where the young can pierce into the flesh and incubate inside the enemy. When they come of age, they simply devour their host from the inside out. [If we go with this one, we'll need a better system in order to aim the projectiles at foes.]
Since you're the team captain, and I am woefully inactive, I'll leave it to you to decide if you want to use only one, or two, of these votes. Either one of them will get a +1 to its result, because they deal with the Jawed Eel, but if one of them is the sex vote it will technically get +4 to its result.

Nice.

Hey Tiberius, what is the Bony Squid Fish's food source? Is it algae?

Team OctoTank:
Vote: Develops an pair of ommatophores of the Eye-Tube to see overall better against the new predators of the Jawed Eel and to see around our surroundings.
Sex vote: I do like the idea of Ocmale Egg Projectiles system idea against the Jawed Eels and can work quite well, so I'm going to support this idea that Bakedtoast suggested as a sex vote.

Since the bladed flanges wasn't one of your supported votes, I'm going to stipulate that that is going to be my personal vote. I'll paste it below.

That means team Octotank has the following votes:

-Eye Tube Omnatophores [+1 for dealing with event]
-Bladed Flanges [+1 for dealing with event]
-Ocmale Egg/Zygote Projectiles [Sex Vote] [+1 for dealing with event]
