Just some intra-team banter here, but I am planning to use my personal votes as often as possible to push us on a path that may, if we get lucky, lead to sapience. Just figured I'd put that out there.
Let me know if you think that's a horrendous idea.
I should mention now, that sapience/civilisation is the end of the game.

Cerebral Cortex 3+2=5
Drill Tooth 6+2>6
Sex Vote: Above water Vocalisations 4+3=7

Changes:
Virim- Oscolumpnam Crociat
Three major changes separate the early virim from the latter True Virim. First and least, juvenile virim now have teeth designed for burrowing through flesh. This has allowed them to survive being imbedded in other organisms. They will still die if the egg projectile misses, but now the virim newborns are able to eat their way out of whatever they hatch in and they generally kill the host in the process. The virim is separated from a herd so it is still a struggle to survive until they find one, but their chances are much better than the early virim.
The other two changes to the virim are closer related. The Virim communicate within their burrows with simple chirps. These chirps are used to tell other members of the pack of places that are dangerous or with plentiful food. To help facilitate this their brain has evolved an outer region that specialises in sensory awareness, memory and their vocalisations. This allows them to remember and describe the location of particular places.

Description:
The organism is a predator with a cylindrical shape and symmetry from one end to the other. Its covered in fish-like scales. It has a cylindrical ribecage. It has a digestive system that can process fresh and decayed meat as well as slime. It’s immune system is based on virophages that are selected for to defeat pathogens and held within a small organ. Each end has three tentacles that are used as locomotion aids and for grabbing and identifying things. Two of the tentacles have bladed flanges that are replaced over time. These tentacles are particularly strong and can be used to crawl. It has a beak. It has lungs. This lungs can store air when it dives to be expelled in an air jet through a hole above the mouth to escape predators. It has a trisexual reproductive system and herding behaviour. The herds are made up of many males and females centered around an ocmale. The ocmale carries the fertilised eggs given by the males and females. The eggs can be used as weapons, spearing predators attacking the herd. The young have specialised teeth for burrowing through flesh so they tend to burrow out of the host, killing them in the process, but they struggle to survive long enough to find a herd.. It has basic social intelligence, and can communicate with simple chirps within their burrows to describe locations. They have a region of their brain for memory, sensory awareness and vocalisations to facilitate this. Packs cut burrows into the slime.

Team Any
Votes-
Airsacs Auto 6
Sex Vote: Move Eyes 3+3=6

Changes:
Ringed Banshee- Ingenticalamore Receptum
The Ringed Banshees eyes have moved outward from its mouth and now form a ring of six eyes around the side of its head. These eyes allow it to see all around itself on the mat so it can’t be surprised. In addition, it has grown large sacs around the top of its body. These sacs are filled with pressurised air, and are used released to make their screams all the louder, making them effective on land.
Event Effects
N/A.

Description:
The Banshee is a Herbivore that eats the Slime that coats the Sea Surface. Its Shaped somewhat like a squid or octupos with a central body ending in a mouth surrounded by tentacles, and it is covered in a thick exoskeleton. It has four digitigrade legs that it uses to run on the mat, although it faces down as it does so. The Exoskeleton is covered in spines that cause muscle weakness and eventual death. It uses chemoreceptors throughout its mouth and tentacles to find slime to eat. Its has six eyespots around its mouth It has a combination digestive-circulatory system that digests food and acts as an open circulatory system. It has lungs. It lives in small herds that build nests using a sticky glue secreted by its tentacles. These nests are used to hide and protect their eggs. It has basic social intelligence. They mate on top of the slime mat. Their land calls are inaudible to other species and can mean a number of things. Underwater they can be loud enough to stun predators that get too close. It strengthens these screams with pressurised airsacs located on the top of the body.

Gamate Bursts 6+2>3
More Chlorophyl 3+2=5

Changes:
Bright Burst Forest- Altamoss Displodosui
Burst Trees have evolved to carry spore-like gamates. These spores are released when they burst and are carried by wind to fertilise other burst trees. The interior of the burst tree grows from the fertilised seed within, granting the burst forest greater genetic diversity.
The Bright Forests are named for their greater density of chlorophyl giving them a much more vibrant green. The greater energy collection has allowed the trees to grow taller and thicker. These trees can’t grow much larger without collapsing because they are composed of generally weak material.
Event Effects
N/A

Description:
A bright green slimy mass that grows across the surface of the Munr Sea and its beaches. It is dense with chlorophyl. It forms mats that flow across the sea with white tendrils holding the mass together and dangling down into the water to gather nutrients. Its covered in blackspots that it uses to direct its growth towards areas of greater sunlight, but for the most part have become vestigial. The slime gains a thicker cell wall and its tendrils turn into roots that dig towards the water allowing to avoid desiccation.¬ It has developed large stalks ending in balls that periodically explode releasing spores and chunks. The spores fertilise other trees and the chunks grow into new patches. These stalks can grow quite large but are limited by the weakness of the stalks.

Strenghten the support structures (the stem) with minerals from the ground.

GP, what are you ideas on our secks vote?

Edit: Also, our species is just a single stem topped with 'leaves' right, like a palm tree?

Whoops, forgot about this for a bit. I didn't quite have a palm tree in mind for how our species would appear, though to be fair I didn't have much of an idea in the first place. On the so called "secks" vote* we can become more fibrous to strengthen our ability to survive the harsher weather on land and to dissuade other species from eating us. So, to organize things a bit.

Team ABNTT:

Vote: Develop a less rudimentery root system to better make use of the minerals in the soil.
Suggested sex vote: Become more fibrous for more survivability.
