Sorry the last event was boring, I wasn’t really sure what geological event would hurt the sea, without killing the slime(Volcanic Winter), and by extent everything in the sea. The next event will occur at some point in the coming turns, and it’ll be a fair bit different. I’m also going to try to be better with names.

Early Virim- Oscolumpnam Virimei
In response to the habits of the screaming squid the Virim, increasingly went to the surface of the mat, prompting some evolution towards terrestriality. They evolved surprisingly hard scales, made out a material similar to their flanges, but different enough to be much more flexible. This has protected them against dessication, but has also helped protect them against Eels. In order to move more effectively, its blanded flange tentacles have grown much stronger to effectively crawl across the slime. To escape the Eels in the water, it has developed a small opening above its mouth that has a much smaller diameter. Before diving the Virim fills its lungs with air, and in case of emergencies it can rapidly expel the air through the hole to propel itself. It can’t go terribly far, as its limited by the size of its lungs, but it can get some distance when taken by surprise or it needs a little boost to get to its ocmale or the mat.

Description:
  The organism is a predator with a cylindrical shape and symmetry from one end to the other. Its covered in fish-like scales. It has a cylindrical ribecage. It has a digestive system that can process fresh and decayed meat as well as slime. It’s immune system is based on virophages that are selected for to defeat pathogens and held within a small organ. Each end has three tentacles that are used as locomotion aids and for grabbing and identifying things. Two of the tentacles have bladed flanges that are replaced over time. These tentacles are particularly strong and can be used to crawl. It has a beak. It has lungs. This lungs can store air when it dives to be expelled in an air jet through a hole above the mouth to escape predators. It has a trisexual reproductive system and herding behaviour. The herds are made up of many males and females centered around an ocmale. The ocmale carries the fertilised eggs given by the males and females. The eggs can be used as weapons, spearing predators attacking the herd, but the young rarely survive long after hatching inside another animals. It has basic social intelligence. Packs cut burrows into the slime.

Coward’s Banshee- Ingenticalamore Receptum
The Banshee’s screaming has escalated, somewhat but in a much more controlled manner. Its mating screams have slowly grown lower and lower in pitch until they’ve become inaudible to other species. It has also developed a number of cries to indicated good feeding grounds, danger, and other such things. In particular it has a cry that it uses underwater that is loud enough to stun predators at close range. In order to escape on land, four of its feeding tentacles have developed stronger muscles and more rigid plating with digitigrade joints, making them suitable to support its weight on land. This allows it to move at a respectable pace that can out speed Verim and their predecessors. It does look quite strange though, as its torso protrudes into the air, and its mouth and eyes face groundward as it runs. There isn’t anything to run into on the slime mat, but it is a potential problem in the future.

The Banshee is making a comeback as they now have some defence against predators.

Description:
The Banshee is a Herbivore that eats the Slime that coats the Sea Surface. Its Shaped somewhat like a squid or octupos with a central body ending in a mouth surrounded by tentacles, and it is covered in a thick exoskeleton. It has four digitigrade legs that it uses to run on the mat, although it faces down as it does so. The Exoskeleton is covered in spines that cause muscle weakness and eventual death. It uses chemoreceptors throughout its mouth and tentacles to find slime to eat. Its main body is covered in eyespots it uses to identify predators. It has a combination digestive-circulatory system that digests food and acts as an open circulatory system. It has lungs. It lives in small herds that build nests using a sticky glue secreted by its tentacles. These nests are used to hide and protect their eggs. It has basic social intelligence. They mate on top of the slime mat. Their land calls are inaudible to other species and can mean a number of things. Underwater they can be loud enough to stun predators that get too close.

Burst Forest- Altamoss Displodosui
The Burst Forest has fully made the jump over to land. In order to avoid damaging itself from the explosions, the vein roots have begun transporting the gas in solution to nodes where it can build up. These nodes are made of much tougher slime and take longer to build up and burst, but do so with much more force causing large chunks to fly off. These chunks are capable of surviving alone with just their roots, resulting in new growths. To aid these bursts the Nodes begun to grow higher up to allow them to fly farther. This has resulted in the mat developing pillars across its body topped by spheres that grow until they explode. The chunks expelled are large enough to smother grass so the Burst Forest has begun to dominate the land has to grows over the local grasses and overruns the plains.

Description:
A green slimy mass that grows across the surface of the Munr Sea and its beaches. It forms mats that flow across the sea with white tendrils holding the mass together and dangling down into the water to gather nutrients. Its covered in blackspots that it uses to direct its growth towards areas of greater sunlight, but for the most part have become vestigial. The slime gains a thicker cell wall and its tendrils turn into roots that dig towards the water allowing to avoid desiccation.
