Council movements:
Propose the collection of a census, to catalogue the specific kinds of labour that are common in Frye, and how successful they are, demographically dividing the population into general labourers(those under the employ of the elders, families, and churches, for broad tasks like maintaining infrastructure, digging graves+ditches, and the like, but also travelling merchants based in Frye, people who run museums, mystics, and such), craftsmen(carpenters, trinket salesmen, cobblers, etc...), martial specialists(ie: mercernaries, knights, and such. Not levies), and farmers(farmers herders, and such). Also dividing them into class; Clerical, Noble, and Peasent.

The purpose is to streamline taxation, to take some load off of law abiding citizens yada yada, while also making more money off of wealthier people who avoid taxation or commit fraud... And to make more money in general. *shrugs*

Actions:
-Attempt to meet with member of the Tanell family about investing into some of the family's businesses, such as Amonet's trinkets, to help develop them, and brkng in some money of my own. Both sides win!

-Request to Ferran that the wedding between Braccan and Alisay be delayed, "at least until the issue of the traitorous individual is resolved. After all, such a problem could endanger my daughter's life!" With the key phrasing meant to *subtly hint* to the Ferran leadership(as in, not alert any spies) that he's trying to lay low.

-Take up the U'debbhaian Clergy's offer of protection, and go into tentative hiding. While all of his family, importantly his 17 year old brother, will be kept safe at all costs, "Grigaros," and his guards will occasionally sneak out with the help of their clergy with the purpose of making public statements and such. Just enough to keep up appearances that Grigaros is not, in fact, hiding!

OOC: Does having less actions effect the final calculations at all, or is it entirely random? If not, I would like to suggest that, mechanically(and for your own sanity!), taking less actions would mean that the characters are focusing more strongly on fewer actions(plus, it incentivize players to not pack incredible amounts of stuff into one turn). So, putting a tiny bit more weight to a person who uses less actions each turn might make sense.
Edited!

Waiting at least for Tannell before the turn report, but previous players who have left are also welcome to get back into it!

1. Set up an Artwork and Cultural Marketplace?
Yes, it is my idea.
2. What should we do about the incarcerated Northe?
While I loathe capital punishment, I believe we should follow the dukes "request".
[------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------]
Send a cartload of orange seeds as requested by the duke.

Jehal is pulled from his "editing" role and Reyya is pushed to accelerate her "research". She will be given one more month for visible results.

Repairs for the Elegant Oak begin.

Tannell sends some seasoned investigators (perhaps those who researched the black beast's appearances) to examine the "sandman's" remains.

A small golden trinket is bestowed as a gift to Braccan and Alisay. Tannell will attend the wedding.

Try to find the cause of the devastating fire.

Just an update for everyone.

I am thinking of taking an undefined hiatus from this game. There are some other forum game concepts I'd like to explore, and so I'm going to try get them set up somehow, some time.
I don't want to / plan on killing this game, and this is not my intention here. More that I have gotten a bit burned out with this theme and the vast complexity of the story for now. Hopefully, we will return to this at some point in the future!

I have two announcements to make.

1. I am a father now, and I have a baby daughter! She was born two days ago and both mother and baby are very well and healthy.

2. Needless to say, things are going to change IRL from here on out. Burghers of Frye was my baby, until now, when I have a "real" baby to take care of.

I'm going to have to let Burghers of Frye bow out of the stage.
All in all, I am completely satisfied by the entire experience. We received a delicious slice of village life in a spin-off of the Itzan universe; there was a lot of intrigue, shenanigans, plots, and outright fun. Characters were developed and explored thoroughly, families grew into distinct personalities of their own, unique lore was built, and I couldn't be more proud of what this game has achieved.

I'd love to hear feedback from you all about the game. What did you like about it? What did you think could have improved? Do you have any comments or side observations you'd like to discuss?
Also, since I was neck-deep in developing more plot for Burghers of Frye when I put the game on hiatus, I have information that can be dispensed should you feel it necessary. Ask away if you have any questions about things that seemed mysterious, that you now dread you'll never find out... or that you just feel like you'd like to know more about!

On a side note, My presence on the forums may also become reduced; I am currently running "Local Gods", and I do not intend to let that one become stagnant. That's why I am keeping it simple, in the hopes that I will find spare moments to draft up its turns and keep things interesting.

Congratulations! Maybe when she gets old enough you can show her the collaborative story we wrote :)

I don’t see anything wrong with the game, I like all of it

What was the escape area leading too? The one in Elforche’s mines? What did the bones and jars Lew found belong to? Was the escape hatch the only thing causing workers to go missing, or was there something else? How are the Shuldri who left the city doing? How are their hosts doing?

That's a great idea, I'll get a pdf print-out of the forum logs!!
Also Might consider making this into an Audiobook like I did with Itzan. I find them very enjoyable on my 1/2 hour commutes.

1. If you are referring to the notices spread around by an Elforche-mine manager for workers to join in order to "Escape, for a Fee", this has to do with the same stone-henge type structure that Nola and the Ferran family were involved with. The henge was a Henge of Arphaxad (From the Itzan universe), and when the workers paid their fee, they were given a ruby and sent to the henge. This would take them to the Dark Path, after which they could find another ruby there and exit through any other henge in the world. How the Mine manager discovered the capability to do this is unknown; perhaps it was a family legend he had heard passed down through generations.
2. The Bones and Jars Lew found in the Elforche mines were very old, from a bygone age. The bones didn't match any known creature because they are not a creature native to Huma. They are bones of the Cabph, the bird-cat race of the Cabf cluster. Over the centuries (some time after Itzan's saga ends) they discovered and also began to use the Henges of Arphaxad, which brought them to the Huma cluster. The usage of the Henges was (and always has been) a closely guarded secret, and so only a handful of Cabph came through at first; however, they launched the only colonization attempt ever made through the Henges, and built a settlement around it. Humanity did not take kindly to this alien race on their lands and after a bloody conflict, the armies of humanity destroyed the Cabph settlement. The Cabph tradition of burying their dead in large clay jars was not disturbed for the most part, and thus they remained unto this day, until discovered.
3. The "Escape" was not the only thing to cause workers to go missing. A secret cabal of Cabph from a dying priesthood were still using the henge for ineffectual religious rites, and when workers began to clear the mines, some were kidnapped. The Cabph stopped using the Henge, however, shortly after our game began, because they realized the area was at risk of being discovered. Later in the game, yes, the coordinated escape was the only thing causing workers to go missing.
4. Shuidri in general fared much better in Frye than outside of it. On the Huma continent at large, Shuidri are a relatively well-known parasite, at least by many learned (real) physicians. Shuidri that left Frye would most likely have been discovered and removed if their hosts reported their experiences to anyone; however, this is entirely dependent on whether or not a host reports an infestation, as there are no direct visible signs of a Shuidri's infestation.
