The Elders have convened for the first time this year, and have discussed current issues, and voted on them below.
1. Accept Count Aschet's donation, yes or no, and if so, what to do with it?
2. New Year's Festival, Yes or No, if yes, how shall it be carried out?
Elamon: Yes, the money should go to the Elforche Family to reimburse them for their burnt down forest and other collateral!
Javen: Yes, we'll need the funds should he require military service later.
Fenris: Accept, and rebuild the Village Elder's Council Building, to show our authority.
Bouhe: Yes, use the funds for Medicinal Research and Military Training.
Estralia: Yes, agree with Northe.
Sefiam: No. We have enough money, and we don't need nebulous obligations like he's proposing.
Northe: Yes. Use the money to further the cause of the Medicants, to save the people of Frye!
Final Vote: A vast majority on the council agreed to accept the gift from Count Aschet. However, an agreement could not be reached as to what to do with the money. A minor majority voted to invest the sizeable sum into the Medicants, but the Elders would not agree to this. Many of them are suspicious of Northe's motives on the council. The majority of the Village Elders then conceded to keep the money on hold till the need arose to use it.

Elamon: Yes, it should be a time to celebrate progress.
Javen: Yes, a festival where merchants can sell foodstuffs, treats, and souvenirs.
Fenris: Yes, it should be a celebration of New Beginnings.
Bouhe: Yes, celebrate the Village successes and allow Commoners to propose laws at the festival.
Estralia: Yes, agree with Elamon, Javen, Fenris, and Bouhe.
Sefiam: Yes, but do not allow commoners to propose laws. This could lead to chaos.
Northe: Yes, and allow commoners to propose laws! Support Bouhe.
Final Vote: A resounding Yes ensured that the festival would be carried out. The Festival was scheduled for the end of the first month, and was to be thus every year after. The villagers were told to gather in the town square on that night, where they would celebrate progress, and new beginnings. Merchants would be allowed to sell their smaller wares and foodstuffs at the festival. Finnaly, commoners would be allowed to write down law proposals on slips of parchment and put them in a box, with the 2 most popular laws being voted upon by the ELders next month.

Ferran: -Forging Fanatics- 14
Building of the forge went slowly, but due to the forge being near completion, still managed to be finished. The forge will be ready for use in the coming month. The Udebha'ians zealously try to help with the construction of the new additions onto their church, but their lack of expertise proves to be a hindrance more than a help.
Ferran: -Shady Snoopings- 38
Unfortunately, the "mine expert" hired by Ferran was unable to find concrete proof of any misdeeds taking place in the mines, largely due to his actual lack of expertise [turns out he was a con, simply trying to weasel money from Ferran], however, as a skilled con artist, he managed to swipe several of the bizarre ancient bones from the Elforche museum, leaving it to Ferran to make conclusions or decide what to do with these ancient and well-preserved bones.
Ferran: -Count Currying- 36
Count Ashet, being an ambitious individual, gladly accepts the steel items and the recipe for creating steel. However, he does not allow Ferran to use the forges of Traye, as he argues that Ferran has just finished their own forge. He is currently involved in higher political matters due to his recent ascension to the throne, and thus will be unable to mettle in Frye's affairs to give Ferran the mine.
Ferran: -Gift for Garrotting- 35
Ferran sends a covert emmissary to Traye and pays the guards of Arson man a large sum of money so that they will slay him. In order to ensure it is done, the emmissary follows the guards to the door of the cell, where he watches through the bars as the guards approach the sleeping Arson Man, each with a strong metal cord with which to strangle their quarry. But Arson Man was not asleep. He'd been ready for betrayal, knowing the deceptive nature of the world. Using a makeshift firecracker he had smuggled into his jail cell, he stuns the guards with the explosion before using their metal cords to make the final incisions to the outer window bars of the jail which he had been slowly eroding the past month. Using every effort of his strength, Arson Man pulls himself through the window and drags himself off into the night. The Ferran emmissary doesn't know the streets of Traye and is unable to locate Arson Man. Thankfully, it doesn't appear that Arson Man recognized Ferran as giving the orders of his murder.
Ferran: -Investigating Identities- 44
Ferran has still been unable to identify who the guards around Nola's private villa work for, but they do make out that whoever it is, is someone powerful with a lot of money, capable of paying the guards well.
Ferran: -Fatherly Concern- 100
Fenris is granted permission to visit Nola at a set time, with archers observing the interaction, just out of earshot but able to fire arrows upon the Ferran visitor if Nola shows any signs of displeasure. Nola shows great friendliness to Fenris as he is her uncle and has always been kind to her. While she refuses to share how she is able to work her "magic", she informs Fenris that she believes the purpose of her magic is to carry her throughout this life with ease, away from the toils of the common folk, and as such she is honing her skills in order to become a court magician one day.
Lew: -Desperate Measures- 29
Unfortunately, the doctors of Shaake know even less than Lew's Medicinal researchers, and the family member dies of starvation as he is not able to be cured. Thankfully, this happened in another village, so no one in Frye believes that this family member was murdered by Lew.
Lew: -Hardy Hospitality- 39 (Result Aided by another Player)
Progress on the new hospital is slow, but disaster is averted when a nearly collapsing support beam is stabilized by the valiant efforts of some Asura workmen. The Medicants offer to Lew to help with building the hospital, if Northe may become the chief doctor of the hospital.
Lew: -King John's Deer- 86
Domestication of deer proves to be easier than expected. After several escapes, Lew has heightened the fences surrounding the deer enclosure. While the first generation of deer, captured in the wild, is quite skittish, Lew believes that subsequent generations will be quite tame.
Tannell: -Donation Requests- 39
The common folk are miffed that a rich and powerful family is attempting to morally seize their belongings, and Tannell's reputation drops. Tannell may have to secure funds another way...
Tannell: -Alert Authorities- 26
The village guards laugh off the tales of the Tannell explorers, believing them to be nonsensical stories.
Tannell: -Martial Meddlings- 23
Tannell researchers have been unable to develop an effective weapon that is of unique design so far, especially since they no longer have the help of the Asuran soldiers to carry out tests.
Tannell: -Barking up the Oak- 85
Canvassing for the Eloquent Oak has encouraged newcomers and travelers alike to visit the inn, generating Tannell a high class of clientele and a good income stream.
Tannell: -Audiovore Analysis- 51
Tannell has learned that the meat of an Audiovore, while providing little nutritional value, is quite flavorful to eat, and is naturally spicy.
Asura: -Common Blood- 57
The cobbler accepts the absurdly generous proposal, and begins working at the Truceful Mule. He is also, as promised by Xijin, legitimized into the Asura family, and given a high-authority rank, overseeing several branches of the family. Naturally, members of Asura by blood are outraged by this action, but Xijin has enough influence that they dare not openly confront this decision. Any children the cobbler has will be considered Asuran, and he has inheritance rank alongside "natural" members of Asura.
Asura: -Black Bait- 52
Several Asuran soldiers find a stray dog, and tie it to a tree in the public forest at dusk. They then climb up the nearby trees, equipped with nets and spears, in hopes of capturing a "Black Being" alive. The night passes by quietly until about midnight, when the hound begins to bark furiously; however, no sign of the "Black Being" is found. And no wonder, these strange creatures haven't been known to target animals. However, in the morning, the Asuran soldiers find a set of strange three-toed tracks leading away from the area where the stray dog had been tied up...
Asura: -Spell Searching- 75
After doing some inquiring, the Asuran investigators discover that Nola hadn't left Frye at all, and that she is currently residing in a private villa, belonging to an unknown power, guarded by unmarked guards. Asura offers Nola protection against Ferran, but Nola responds that she already has been guaranteed such a thing by those who have provided the villa for her. She does, however, give Asura written instructions on how to contact those who have provided the villa for her.
Asura: -Mount and Blade- 42 (Result Aided by another Player)
After managing to purchase some horses from travelling merchants, Lew provides Asura with them, so that Asura may train in mounted archery. However, Asuran soldiers, used to close quarters-combat, are finding it difficult to learn to shoot a bow effectively from horseback.
Asura: -Entreating Estralia- 56
Estralia, while having been nominated by Asura, is not directly subordinate to them in any means. She does not believe that the religious situation in Frye is in a great trumoil, and so will not propose a law; however, she does agree to have the Elders convene to discuss what the actual situation is in Frye according to them.
Asura: -Feminine Fantasies- 15
Perhaps wanting attention, perhaps going through teenage hormonal changes, Airi begins to spout Ains-like retoric and claims to be having magical dreams. Members of the Asura family immediately discipline her for such bahviour, and she is disallowed to leave the family estate.
Asura: -Celebration of New Life- 62
The celebration of Lenora's expectancy goes well, and many Asuran family members show up to congratulate the happy couple.
Asura: -Militant Aid- 4
It turns out that Asuran soldiers can sometimes be incapable of almost every task other than fighting. After [accidentally] collapsing several small buildings, injuring small animals, and breaking carts and other pieces of equipment, they are practically driven off by the angry townsfolk, who revile the incompetent Asuran soldiers on sight, and threaten violence if Asura tries to "help" them ever again. Asura's reputation with the common populace drops sharply.

1. The New Year's Festival has taken Place. Commoners and aristocrats alike celbrated New beginnings and progress. Merchants sold foodstuffs and souvenirs to everyone alike, and there was general celebration all around. The Medicants also attended the festival, and spent much time seriously discussing subjects with commoners, who then would thoughtfully write their law proposal and put it into the box. The law proposal box was full to bursting by the end of the night, and the Elders were to count and see what the most common suggestion was.
2. Asura has introduced commoner blood into their family. This is something that goes against hundreds of years of tradition. Whether the other families have something to say about this, or if it gives them a reason to act in a certain way, remains to be seen...
3. Word reaches Frye that the war that the late Count Adaarn was involved in has ended, or at the very least, Count Aschet is not supporting the war, and thus the county of Traye will remain peaceful for a time.
4. So far, only one family has conducted an investigation of Elforche mines. The case cannot carry on without the other families finishing their investigations. Elforche is happy with this, but it is presumable that Ferran is not...

1. Lew has proposed that we create a civilian order for Security. These "Watchmen" would patrol the streets separate from the village guard, and would keep order throughout the night. A positive side effect of this would be more security, but a negative side effect would be the cost, as these people would need to be paid, and it would be redundant since the village guard already patrol the streets at night.
2. Northe proposes that the money recieved from Count Ashet be invested into the Medicants. He claims that the Medicants are the frontier of healing diseases in Frye, and even those who do not agree that the Dark god exists cannot deny the positive effects the Medicants have had in this and in other issues. Northe notes that the Medicants will use these funds to buy supplies for themselves and invest a large part of it into Lew's Medicinal Research.
3. Estralia would like the Elders to discuss what they think the Religious situation is like in Frye. Do they believe that a remedial action must be taken? Do they believe that Frye is in religious jeopardy?
4. Commoner Law- The most popular Law proposal from the New Year's Festival was to enforce a lower cost to the commoners on alcohol, such as brandy and mead, so that commoners could consume more alcohol at a cheaper price.
5. Commoner Law- The second most popular Law proposal from the New Year's Festival was to enforce a "Medicant tax" on all merchants entering Frye, so that the Medicants could continue their benevolent work among the populace, and have greater funds to do so.

In short, here are the issues the Village Elders may vote upon this coming month:
1. Create Watchemn order, yes or no?
2. Count Aschet's money to the Medicants, yes or no?
3. Give your opinion on the current religious situation in Frye, and should action be taken?
4. Enforce Merchants to sell alcohol at lower cost, yes or no?
5. Enforce "Medicant Tax" on all foreign merchandise entering Frye, yes or no?
And thus the second month of the year is upon us. A time of investigation, debate, and general concern, no doubt...
