Events of the Month:

Xijin have decided to punish both Xing and Wasashi to go into the forest and hunt down the creatures that have been torturing over the many months. If they bring in one body of those creatures, then their honor will be restored. "Both Xing and Wasashi will be geared quite well for this punishment."

Spend in some Asura Workers have decided to help the Lew family with their hospital.

Asura family will begin the construction of a shoemaker shop for the commoners and other civilians of Frye. Xijin asked the Ferran family to support the construction of the shoemaker shop for a discount and credit toward the shoemaker shop. "OOC: I will decided a name after the construction is finished."

The Asura family agree to find and capture Castor for the Ferran family.

Begin to practice on making specialized shoes that increase the mobility of a person but comfortable at the same time.

Asura family will spends in some Asura guards to protect the Ferran owned businesses for a price.

Note to the Bailiff:
The village so far have been quite fine, but I do feels that we do needs to know what types of dangerous creatures are in the forest.
OOC Edit: Changed the note for the Bailiff.

Note to the Bailiff:
This will be my first month being a offical elder, I currently see that the commoners do need some proper to be equal to the families and the elders but that just me.
Just wanted to point out that the letter to the Bailiff is written by the family itself, not by the representative Elder they elected. So in your case, Xijin, not Estralia, would be writing this letter. As Estralia is a commoner outside your family rule, you cannot control her, but only influence her through messengers, requests, or other means.

Once Tannell has posted their actions, we will have all the information necessary for this month to transpire!

Notable Events:
1. Estralia, a commoner nominated by Asura, will take a seat on the village Elders next month. She is a law-abiding citizen under Count Adaarn, despite her belief in Mercukh, an ancient and mostly long-dead religion(think Ancient Norse Pagan IRL). Suspicion surrounds Estralia, naturally, as suspicion surrounds her electors, Asura.

3. The "Dark god" has almost relinquished his hold on those in the village of Frye. The heroic efforts of the staunch Medicants alongside the treatments of the "unbelieving" Family of Lew have driven the nightmares almost completely away. Northe and his Medicants are regarded as heroes, and continue to collect religious tithes while they aid the populace with other diseases and ailments (with far less success, as they have no medical training).

4. Casthor's band of miscreants has been dismantled. He is weak and in hiding, and if he can be found, he won't have much support with which to fight back...

5. Nola, the "mage" of the Ferran Family, is planning to leave the village of Frye sometime this month. After the events of the last month, can anyone blame her?
In short, here are the issues that the Elders can vote for:
1. Medicants nominate an elder, yes or no?
2. Punishment for Tiglam's murders, what shall it be?
And thus, the eleventh month creeps up upon Frye. A time of recovery, or of further turmoil? We shall see...
1. No, they must stay out of the politics of Frye.
2. Have the ringleaders be executed, and the rest perform community labor.

Examine the body of the strange orange creature.

Help search for Casthor.

Have Amonet step down as teacher. Have a different family member take her place.

Send out another group of explorers.

Bailiff Letter:

Salutations Cisse,

The business world of Frye is doing marvelously! However, the forge owned by the Ferran family has been burned down. We must find this arsonist!

Sincerely,
Joven

And so, the eleventh month draws to a close. Much has transpired, and intriguing events continue to unfold...

The Elders have discussed current issues, and their results pan out below:
1. Medicants nominate an elder, yes or no?
Marahie: Yes, to avoid conflict.
Javen: No, the Medicants have no place in Frye's politics.
Rolfe: No, we don't need our power here diluted...
Bouhe: Give the Medicants a seat to avoid conflict. They aren't that bad...
Estralia: While the Medicants may have a strange appearance, they appear to be misguided at worst; allow them this.
Sefiam: They have heretical beliefs, and as such, may not have this power!
Final Vote: After long discussion, the elders could not reach a conclusion. As such, the rule they have always used is put into place; this issue shall be carried forward another month; perhaps things will have changed. The medicants are informed of this, and while not happy, they are willing to wait another month.

2. Punishment for Tiglam's murderers, what shall it be?
Marahie: We should have them delivered to the Count's high court for punishment.
Javen: The ringleaders must be executed. The others must work on town projects.
Rolfe: We should dispose of them in a way that doesn't cause backlash. Count's high court.
Bouhe: Kill them with arrows, as therewith they slew Tiglam.
Estralia: I'm not fully aware of the situation, as I wasn't here at the time, but defualt feudal law would have them executed.
Sefiam: This is beyond our jurisdiction. Agree with Rolfe.
Final Vote: After great lengths, the Elders could not come to a conclusion. However, Javen and Bouhe, who had the most influence on the council (being direct members of powerful and wealthy families) managed to sway the Village Elders their way through sheer clout of power, and on a fateful day early in the month, the Asura assassins of Tiglam were executed; each was shot by two arrows, and allowed to bleed to death in the town square. The general populace were unnerved by the event, and the Elder's reputation decreases slightly; however, an example has been made, that forms of regicide will not be tolerated in any way.
The Bailiff has read the letters of the powerful Families, and has chosen to act.
Ferran:
-Feral Scribblings of Nonsense-

Lew:
(No letter was written)

Asura:
The village so far have been quite fine, but I do feels that we do needs to know what types of dangerous creatures are in the forest.

Tannell:
The business world of Frye is doing marvelously! However, the forge owned by the Ferran family has been burned down. We must find this arsonist!

The Bailiff has decided not to recall the soldiers of the Count, but to leave the platoon in Frye to conduct business on his behalf. [Until they leave, they will be carrying out one action each month, at Cisse's discretion, after the other family actions have been described.]
The powerful families in Frye have made their moves.
Asura: -Trial by Trees- 63
Heavily armored, and carrying multiple weapons each, Xing and Wasashi head into the forest, in search of the terrifying beast that has been terrorizing the outskirts of Frye for many months. After almost a week, Wasashi returns, sorely wounded, missing most of his weapons, their armor torn to peices. On his shoulders he carries a nearly-dead Xing; the trial was just too much for his old age. Silently, Wasashi Lays Xing down in the town square, and throws a dismembered black forearm at the feet of Xijin. The forearm is covered in oily black skin, dripping with black blood, and has two long claws extending from it's wrists instead of hands and fingers. Wasashi says no more. He appears to be shell-shocked. Whether this counts as absolution for Ains' death is up to Xijin.

Asura: -Helping Hospitality- 52
As Lew seems to have abandoned the project, the hospital buildin is going slowly, but thanks to Asura's efforts, is nearly finished. If construction continues next month, it hsould be finished by the end of the coming month.

Asura: -Cool Cobbling- 90
Construction goes extremely well, thanks to some volunteer help from peasants who also want boots and shoes. If Asura is content with a small shoemaker shop, it will be finished by the end of the coming month. If they want a larger shoemaker shop, construction will take longer.

Asura: -Capture Casthor- 52 (Result Aided by another Player)
With aid from Tannell's expert investigators, Asuran guards manage to locate Casthor and his last bastion of thugs. After a heavy struggle, with casualties on both sides, Casthor is captured, spitting blasphemies and insults against Ferran. He tries to demoralize the other families to not support Ferran and their treacherous ways. The Asuran members drag Casthor and his cronies to their private estate, and incarcerate them in a dried-up well, until they have a chance to deliver them to Ferran.

Asura: -Footsies- 67
Looking into shoe design, Asuran researchers realize the current designs are a bit heavier than they could be. Perhaps, with aid from scientific minds, Asura would be able to improve shoe quality throughout Frye...

Ferran: -Burning Inside- 47
Finally, Ferran aims to settle their vendetta. Without waiting for Asura to deliver Casthor to them, a group of high-level Ferrans and a disguised Arson man makes their way to the Asura private estate. Pushing their way past gruff Asuran guards, they head to the dried up well, and after Arson Man pours a few gallons of fish oil down the well, he drops a torch on Casthor and his miserable retinue. The screams are heard by many of the nearby populace, and those brave enough to investigate see the high-ranking Ferran members staring into the flames alongside a hooded man, and Asuran guards standing by. Ferran's reputation decreases in areas near Asura's estate, and because they couldn't wait for Asura, their standing with each other becomes slightly strained.

Ferran: -Daughter Doting- 38
No matter what Ferran can say, Nola is aware of their deceit and treacherous ways. She can't trust Ferran. However, she doesn't leave the village of Frye, as she recieved an "anoymous sponsor" who has set her up in her own private villa, and supplies her with her daily needs to go about her life and practicing her magic ways. She retains contact with Ferran occasionally, and has not denounced the Ferran family, but remains autonomous.

Ferran: -Forge Buildings- 37
The forge reconstruction is going slowly, but the Dabalian temple is almost complete. It stands majestically superior to the Udebha'ian church on the other side of the street. So far, no violence has erupted, but there have been several times that Udebha'ian protestors have clustered near the construction site, and argued with the workers.

Ferran: -Count be Taught- 4
The Count's blacksmith, an arrogant man, refuses to work with Ferran. He is determined to unravel the mysteries of the alloy "steel" on his own, so that the Count can have superior materials than his neighbors, and he can maximize his own profits.

Ferran: -Mine Misconduct- 66
Ferran diplomats speak to anyone who will listen, about the mysteries and conflicts surrounding the Elforche mines. They garner a small amount of support, but only barely enough to make a case to the Village Elders. Elforche doesn't lie down and simply take it, either. They counterattack by pointing out scruples involving the Ferran Family, including the recent "alleged" burning of Casthor.

Lew: -Medicine Mission- 71
The Lew emmissaries sent to the nearby villages have met mild success, learning a few techniques involving various herbs.

Lew: -Medicant Minds- 85
The Medicants have an open mind to learning conventional medicine, despite their disagreements about the Shudri infestation. They seem to put a pseudo-religious edge on everything they learn.

Lew: -Questioning Kinslayers- 8
As Asura had Xing and Wasashi in custody before sending them on their punishment rite, Lew didn't have a chance to obtain any information.

Lew: -Mending Mettlings- 61
Northe accepts the gifts graciously, and relations between Lew and the Medicants are mildly improved.

Lew: -Forese Approached- 45
Upon questioning Forese, Lew finds that he has a general attitude of discontent in labour as a teacher. It appears that he preferred active researching rather than teaching what he already knew. However, He is willing to continue teaching, if he recieves an increase in pay.

Tannell: -Audible Autopsy- 83
Tannell learns much about the creatures. It appears that they reproduce by splitting into four new creatures when the parent creature dies, as Tannell observed when examining the creature's internal organs, which were radially symmetrical. A live sample would have given much more information.

Tannell: -Teacher Tripping- 80
Amonet steps down without qualm, although Forese is visibly disappointed by Tannell's decision. He and Amonet remain in touch, and suspicion develops of a covert relationship between the two. Another family member, a man this time, takes Amonet's place, aiding in Science and History classes.

Tannell: -Environment Encroaching- 94
A successful foray into the surrounding woods of Frye has been able to return multiple live specimens of the small orange creature, captured in small clay jars. The explorers also find strange three-toed tracks in several places, some dropped bloody weapons, and shreds of armor laying about the forest.

Cisse: -Arson Aquiry- 58
After reading the letters, Cisse has ordered his platoon of dedicated soldiers to begin questioning the villagers to locate the Arson that has been causing multiple fires in the past several months. They don't garner much information, but slight suspicion has been pointing toward the Ferran Family.

New Issues:
1. The Elders must reconvene and rediscuss the situation of the Medicants. Should they be allowed to nominate a council member?

2. Ferran has accused Elforche of misusing the Eastern Mines, and demands that they sell the mines. Ferran's main cases brought forward are the strange tracks, the odd noises, and the conflicts that break out near the mines. They state the Elforche must know more than the other families about what's really going on in their mine, as they refuse to investigate it further. Elforche brings forward the fact that their mine is their business, and they have a right to know more than others about it, and also, the conflicts were started by Ferran and Asura, not Elforche. Elforche also points out Ferran's duplicity as they are clearly pulling political strings as well. The Elders have the power to decide how the issue is resolved, but be warned: either family could become disgruntled, or even offended, with the result...

3. The Elders must answer a call to war. Cisse, on behalf of the Count, is requesting the Count's lawful levy from the village, and as many spare able-bodied men as possible. If we raise the levy for Cisse, we will have limited manpower until the war is over; but if we don't raise any levy, we run the risk of offending the Count, or worse, giving the appearance of insubordination...
Notable Events:
1. The twelfth month is upon us, meaning that the powerful families each, once again, have the opportunity to review the Village Elder they have nominated, and if they wish, nominate another instead, which could increase their influence. [Note: times of regular nomination will not cause rage from the former Village Elder, as bi-yearly nomination is the custom. Casthor's case was an outlier as he was replaced in an irregular way.]

2. The School of Frye:
Cirriculums in place are Tactics, Medicine, Literacy, Science, and History. There are currently no desired Cirriculums.
The Medicine Class is progressing well.
The Literacy Class is going swimmingly. 100% student literacy rate upon graduation of the class; perfect satisfaction, respect, and behaviour of the students in the class and with respect to the class. Top students attend an extra-cirricular class in which they write thier own literary works and consume literary works created by Armanus himself.
The Science Class is progressing well.
The History Class is not progressing well. With Amonet replaced, the class is more focused and productive. Forese, however, is considering resigning as a teacher, unless he gets a pay increase...

3. Reports of the "Dark god" are all but non-existent, thanks to the Medicants, and slight efforts from Lew. The Medicants continue to collect religious tithes, and are considering buy a plot of land to open a new church, one that officially acknowledges the "Dark God" as a malignant deity, with Northe at its head, naturally. The new "Church of Northe" will not bias anyone of any religion, but rather unite its followers in their hatred of the "Dark god".

4. Casthor is dead. Rumors surround his death, specifically about Ferran and the hooded figure...
In short, here are the issues that the Elders can vote for:
1. Medicants nominate an elder, yes or no?
2. How shall we resolve the dispute between Elforche and Ferran?
3. How shall we respond to Cisse's request for the draft revenue?

And so, the twelfth month draws forth upon the village of Frye. Politics may abound, intrigue may run rampant, and hopefully, the year will close on a good note, but perhaps it will not...

1. Medicants nominate an elder, yes or no?
Yes
2. How shall we resolve the dispute between Elforche and Ferran?
Have Elforche sell the mine to the Elders, unless the other families are allowed to investigate what's going on in the mines.
3. How shall we respond to Cisse's request for the draft revenue?
Start the draft, we wouldn't want the Count to see us as indubordinate

Events

Help finish the hospital.

Send members of Lew to the forest to explore it. Equip the explorers with armor

Increase Forese's pay.

Investigate to find out who the hooded figure with Ferran was.

Send some family members to the Dabalian temple to help stop protests. Remind the Udhebbans that if they have a place of worship, Dabalians should also have a place of worship.

Use existing medical knowledge to try to create a new medicine

Investigate and find out who the arsonist is.

Elder
Keeping Same Elder

Letter to Baliff
There was a point where members of the Ferran family, along with an unidentified hooded figure were standing around an area where Casthor was burned to death. We have went to the nearby villages of Shaake and Donu to learn about medicine, and have taught our knowledge to the Medicants. We are also building a hospital with the help of other families. This hospital will be public and usable to the entire village. Reports of the Dark God are almost gone. We think things are looking up, except for an arsonist who burned down various houses. We are trying to find out about the hooded figure and the arsonist, and could use your help.

Don't forget to make your wishes known about the bi-annual Elder nomination!
Whether you're keeping the same representative, or electing a new one.

That turn was impressively bad for me. I guess invoking he who shall not be named only angers him.

We will be appointing an elder. What's the advantage to having a gifted commoner?

Non-commital answer to the Mendicats. Focus on the concept that if the mendicants receive an elder, then the other faiths should have one too.
Auction the mine.
Stall the vote until arson man has a chance to act. If he fails we are in favor of the draft.

Speaking of which, the Family is very invested in acquiring the mine and quietly offers all of the other families a question free favor in the future to vote in our favor in this matter.

Arson Man is going to go attempt to kill the count(and his family. Can't have any heirs running about.) before the draft happens. Keep him out of Frye until questions about him die down.

Begin renovating the Udebahian Temple. Continue work on the forge, but leave the finishing touches on the dabahlian temple to Asura, except in areas we are necessary to aid.

Keep Tabs on Nola

Send Smiths to sell secret of steel working abroad, since the count doesn't seem to want an advantage, and they aren't doing much without a forge anyways.

Just Tannell and Asura, and then we'll be ready for the next turn report!

Note: This month is the final month of the first year. I plan to do a yearly breakdown of everything major of note in Frye; Politics, Religion, Economy, Military, major events that transpired throughout the year. I also plan on making a breakdown of each family; Their assets, relations, internal politics, finances, etc.
The above will be largely for RP and flavor, but could be acted upon if desired.
