I wouldn't eat a unicorn, I already don't eat horses, and unicorns have always been portrayed as magical ultra intelligent horses, so why would I eat a unicorn lol.

Note the way I portray them is more relevant to the question, and I aside from lack of availability why don't you eat horses?

I imagine them as only slightly smarter than horses.

I wouldn't eat a kangoroo they don't look very tasty. anyway a unicorn traditionally(and for the sake my argument) has the ability to purify water(or your beverage) so yes magical put on the low end of that so to speak....

I must simply make do with the fact we are the only country in the world with Edible coat-of-arms-animals.

Eh, I've always been impartial against meat, most of the time I don't like the texture or taste, it has to be prepared well.
