See how the game of life is never won, you only play
Bore him and you will find you're crumpled up and thrown away
Clinging to fate and blaming it when life won't go your way
Such a laugh, HA! Life is just a game!

Wow, this got really off topic... Anyway I love social science it's my thing.
I've seen at least a dozen studies over this topic, which is quite a few in terms of social science. One of the bigger issues with them is as Prudentia stated.
[quote="Prudentia"
sociologists and cultural anthropologists do research based on the internet and it's cultures, but they just so short lived.
Some research has been done, but the short longevity of memes and internet culture is the very reason why they are hard to study.[/quote]
There is plenty of research, it's just not a popular topic. In science, they perform most studies based on how useful that knowledge is and what kind of impact it can have. That's especially true in sociology and psychology. So most of your research on internet culture is going to come from big advertising agencies and stuff that can actually use that information. But there is research out there you just have to know where to look. If you're interested I would recommend PsychInfo and PsycARTICLES. Those are two of the best psychology based databases on the interwebs (that I know of). But they also have stuff from sociology and other related fields.

... There talking about rule 34. A working ftl drive isn't porn. And therefore didn't fall under rule 34.ClassyAmoeba wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2016 4:38 amThen, show me a working FTL drive in 10 years. This is my counterargument, and rebuttal to your statement. A large number of things on the internet, if they have not been done before, will be soon, yet some will elude the internet.NuclearCat wrote:Rules of the Internet state that if it hasn't been done before, it will be soon.Andrewsarchus wrote: Look harder. I wish we could bring our subculture back together.
