Site problems

Post by Quasar » Sun Mar 05, 2017 11:18 pm

We got hit by malware, which targeted the drupal backend that runs the main pages (index, downloads, etc). Said backend is out of date, which is why it was vulnerable.

Sitelock, the security system I bought for the site, spotted and deleted the offending files (ie the site).

I spoke with sitelock and had them fix it, and was getting ready to update drupal when the site vanished again. Need to be a bit quicker next time.

Only the site's front pages were hit. Forums still work, and the game can still be downloaded via direct link. (will put one here when I'm not on my phone).

(Edit) Here you go: http://www.speciesgame.com/Downloads/Re ... Alpha).zip

I'll get this fixed as soon as possible, but it might take a while.

(EDIT)

Well. That was an adventure.

Long story short, the site is back, drupal is updated and everything seems to be working okay.

Oh, don't grovel. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people groveling.

Good to see you back, on a side note, any chance of us getting acquainted with what you are working on?

Quasar, could you please bring back the no mobile feature, this mobile set up makes it harder for me to track the number of posts that people are making.

Oh for the love of... here we go again. Don't visit the home page, it's been hacked and filled with spam. I've started the usual process to get it cleaned again.
