Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 4

Boisei are organized into raid-tribes while Ergaster are still family-unit hunter-gatherers. So it sounds like you're saying that the brain size difference (roughly 200cc worth), coupled with Ergaster's usage of ranged weapons, could easily overpower and defeat a Boisei raid, even if Boisei had lar...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 4

3. I feel like Saharan Boisei are a threat to Ergaster, which are my favorite. If I can somehow hamper Saharan Boisei, you'd better believe I'll do it. Saharan Boisei are about as much threat to Ergaster as Chimpanzees are to humans. So you're saying that we need to prepare for the coming chimp rev...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 4

[\ Is there a way we can see the brain mass of each species? I wonder if it's possible for Ergaster to cross the Atlantic to enter South America? There is historical speculation that Stone Age populations could've been capable of this. No. It'd be easier to go through Beringia. 3. I feel like Sahar...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 3

So my vote to give Saharan Boisei literal SCALES isn’t going to cause them to be genetically incompatible with the East African Boisei? Nope. Gets them well on the way though. If the homo genus was the standard for hominae, then our entire genus was basically a giant evolutionary orgy. Like Homo sa...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 3

I'm not totally sure what sediba's issue is, but weapons help hunt and keep out other hominids so it'll probably help. Sediba's problem is that there is always someone who can do what they do, but better. Quite frankly they need a lot of catch up, or a different niche that other hominids won't/can'...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 3

From what I'm aware, a major reason Sapiens were more effective at survival than Neanderthal was this specific advantage; That's one theory, but a more mainstream one is that Neanderthal were prone to smaller group sizes, and suffered from inbreeding depression in most populations, along with autoi...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 3

I noticed you didn't put any Extinction flag for Ergaster (Including whether they were even endangered at all). I'm going to assume this means they are currently at no danger of extinction. Yep, You caught one of my "whoops" moments. I want to clarify interbreeding; same genus meaning that only Hom...

Re: The Guiding Lights Turn 3

Superstitions about the Night Sky being a giant black rock that could fall have kept Homo Erectus huddled in shelters and caves every night, never venturing out at night, dawn, or dusk. So this is my bad. I didn't count this vote because I didn't fully read it before. It's not specific. So to make ...
