Re: Designing a better default aquatic species?
The next version will allow you to customize the starting creature, which should help. Maybe Quasar will finally fix the excessive buoyancy while he's at it; an urbilaterian should sink like a rock. As for the ideal temperature for the current aquatic starter, they need a tropical reef; set the surf...

Re: Will carnivores be fixed in the next update?
The herbivore population might just be too low for a stable predator population. That said, more behaviors and mechanics would help make creatures more adaptable, so depending on what Quasar implements, he might be able to make it work: Stealth would allow predators to get closer without being spott...

Crash on removing climate control device
Bugs for the bug god! Sorry! The game hit a problem I didn't anticipate and Species had to quit. If you email the bug report below to qu.quasar@gmail.com, I can look into it and might even be able to find out what caused this mess. Thanks! - Quasar ArgumentOutOfRangeException Index was out of range...

(0.12.0.3) Nursery creating land biomes underwater, and climate control weirdness
When the nursery is underwater, it tends to turn the seafloor into desert or grassland biomes. Climate control devices seem to do the same thing, and when set to temperature, make areas more barrren. Climate control devices can also be obscured and unclickable when in front of the nursery tower, but...

(0.12.0.2) Flipper type limbs make swimming worse.
So I've got an aquatic creature that isn't evolving flippers, and I'm looking at the gene editor trying to change that. The thing is, changing the legs to any flippers/fins causes a huge drop in swim stamina and no improvement in swim speed. Changing the limb's dimensions doesn't help at all, and th...

Also, minor UI fixes for things like not being able to remove the rover you want without removing every one you made afterwards or UI elements being pushed off screen would be nice.We can wait a while on fancier assets; just make it slightly less annoying. Any little, easy-to-fix annoyances like th...

Re: Broken Population Cap
Usually on the second world I run in a session, the population cap gets messed up. It constantly says that the population cap has been reached, even with an absurdly high one. It then says that it is capped until it finishes killing off every single creature. Had this happen too. if I remember corr...

Re: 0.13.0 Suggestion Box
Social behaviors and better creature simulation; things like that facial feature rework you've talked about or more specific diets. Also, minor UI fixes for things like not being able to remove the rover you want without removing every one you made afterwards or UI elements being pushed off screen w...

Re: 0.12.0 Development Thread
So on the Steam news, you mentioned seasonal cycles. I thought you weren't doing those because of the game's crazy-fast time scale? Are we just going to be playing on a planet with a very long orbit? From any individual creature's perspective they'll play out more like glacial cycles, but yeah. The...
